Following the resounding success of its inaugural edition, Poetry Expo returned in 2024 with renewed vision, broader participation, and deeper engagement with the issues shaping our world. Organised and curated by Versopolis, the European platform of international poetry festivals, this second edition reaffirmed poetry’s role as a space of reflection, resistance, and reimagination.

Under the theme “Versing Futures: Unravelling Unity Through Poetry,” Poetry Expo 2024 invited global contributors to reflect on the transformative potential of literature and art in confronting contemporary challenges — from climate crisis to technological disruption, from mental health and inequality to collective visions of a more just and connected world.

Running from 1 February to 15 March, the Expo once again became the world’s largest digital exhibition dedicated exclusively to poetry, drawing together over 90 organisations and individual artists from across continents. Through video essays, readings, performances, installations, and multimedia content, contributors explored five curated thematic strands:

  • - Climate Crisis and Poetry

  • - Technological Innovations in Literature

  • - Mental Health Narratives in Poetry

  • - Literature as a Tool for Social Equity

  • - Global Unity and Collective Futures

2024’s edition pushed the boundaries of what a digital poetry exhibition can be: a laboratory of ideas, a global agora for artistic exchange, and a poetic archive of human resilience and imagination. Poetry Expo 2024 not only showcased the finest in contemporary poetic practice but also catalyzed conversations on how literature can heal, provoke, educate, and unify.
