Pauli Tapio

Pauli Tapio is a poet and translator who lives in Helsinki. He has published one collection of poetry, Varpuset ja aika (Sparrows and Time, 2017), for which he won the Helsingin Sanomat Literature Prize for the best debut book and the Bridges of Struga award given by UNESCO and the Struga Poetry Evenings festival held in Northern Macedonia. His poetry has been published in English, Macedonian, Norwegian and Romanian. He has translated works by Russian authors, such as the novelists Svetlana Alexievich and Sergey Dovlatov and the poets Alla Gorbunova, Alexey Porvin and Nikita Safonov.
