Zofia Szachnowska-Olesiejuk

Zofia Szachnowska-Olesiejuk, graduate of English Studies at the University of Gdańsk, literary translator, amateur singer and songwriter. For over fifteen years she has been cooperating with leading Polish publishing houses (Czarne, Marginesy, Otwarte, Znak etc.) as well as the Music Theatre in Gdynia, translating fiction, non-fiction, poetry and musical librettos of Broadway and West End productions. Since 2021 Szachnowska-Olesiejuk has been Chair of the Northern Division of Polish Literary Translators Association. She lives in Gdynia with her husband Adam (the other half of their translating team and co-star in their accoustic blues duo Moja Droga Wendy), her daughter Lidia and their dog Miron.
