In her debut collection, azur ton nähe. flussdiktate [azur sound proximity: river dictation], Silijarosa Schletterer transforms a fluid web of waterways, combining their substance with anthropomorphic experiences. When encountered by the reader, poetic spaces for meaning- and relationship making arise between humans, nature, and language—evoking feelings of multiple submersions. In imagined creeks and rivers. As well as in ourselves. How do we understand the relationship between river and poem? […] This is on us to discover through reading (aloud), listening, and marveling.

[…] Siljarosa Schletterer’s poetry collection azur ton nähe. flussdiktate [azur sound proximity: river dictation], is a loving, empathetic and thoroughly resolute examination of the essence, structure, and topographic details of rivers and their spheres of influence. These poems, each of which is associated with a body of water and its coordinates, are imminently woven together with an approach to language as wide-ranging in its metaphors as it is in its specificity.

Favorite stanzas ripple one after the next, light as water. […]
