Raquel Santanera

Manlleu, 1991. Raquel Santanera Vila is a prize-winning Catalan poet. She graduated in literary studies from the University of Barcelona and her poetry is at the forefront of exploration of gender identity and what is referred to as 'cyborg poetry'. In 2015, she won the Martí Dot prize with her debut Teologia poètica d’un sol ús, with which she created 'babaisme', an effort to forge a new mythology of the poetic 'I' that remains present in her subsequent collections De robots i màquines o un nou tractat d’alquímia, Pollença Poetry Prize (2017); and Reina de rates: crònica d’una època (2021) won her the Miquel Martí i Pol poetry prize. She coordinates the poetry series Els Vespres Malgastats and is co-programmer for L’Horiginal, the legendary workshop for poetry recitals and new literary approaches in Barcelona.
