Katja Perat

Katja Perat is a St. Louis-based, Slovene-born author, poet, and literary historian. In her research, she is particularly curious about the intersection of sex and nation in the contex of the Cold War Central Europe. Her novel The Masochist (Istros, 2020) offers a re-writing of a psychoanalytic case study through the words of its object: the hysterical woman. She is passionate about internationalist solidarity, folk music, and labor abolition.
