Poetry Translation Centre

The Poetry Translation Centre is a registered charity and the only UK organisation dedicated to translating and promoting contemporary poetry from Africa, Asia and Latin America. We publish books, organise events and deliver hands-on translation workshops that are open and inclusive to all. We also offer online resources including a dual-language poetry podcast and an extensive web archive of poems in translation, and deliver artist development schemes for young poets and emerging translators.

Established in 2004 by the poet Sarah Maguire, in 2024 the PTC marks its 20th birthday. Throughout the year, it will run events and workshops across England and beyond, celebrating 20 years of championing global poets and the diverse diaspora communities in the UK.
