Rimantas Kmita

Rimantas Kmita was born in 1977 in Šiauliai. He played rugby as a teenager, but in 1996 he left for Klaipėda to study literature and directing. In Klaipėda, he wrote poetry, published three collections of poems, and later worked as an academic. In 2016, Rimantas wrote a novel in the slang of his hometown The Southside Chronicles (Pietinia kronikas). The novel Remyga (2020) continues to raise questions about the collapse of the Soviet empire and the coming of age of independent Lithuania.
