Romana Perečinec

Romana Perečinec was born in 1973. She graduated in German Language and Literature and Art History at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, where she also studied Dutch Language and Literature. She translates Dutch and German literature, mostly fiction and poetry (until now she has translated Cees Nooteboom, Hugo Claus, Harry Mulisch, Martin Walser... Maarten Inghels, Maria Barnas, Els Moors, Tom van de Voorde...). Romana Perečinec has attended translation residencies in Amsterdam, Antwerp and Berlin. In 2008, she attended translation course offered by the Swiss author Katharina Faber at the Literary Festival Leukerbad. From 2007 to 2011 she held German and Croatian literary translation courses organized by the Translation Institute Graz (Institut für  Translationswissenschaften) on the Croatian island of Premuda where she helped Croatian students in translating modern German and Croatian literature. She run last three anual workshops in literary translation hosted by Goethe Institute in Croatia and in 2016 she joined the Translab project that organises literary translation workshops.
