Mindaugas Nastaravičius

Mindaugas Nastaravičius was born in 1984 in Marijampolis village near Vilnius. He graduated from Journalism at Vilnius University. Later he studied Philosophy and Literature. His first book of poems titled Dėmėtų akių (2010) was awarded Zigmas Gėlė-Gaidamavičius’ prize for the best debut of the year. In 2014 the second book titled Mo was published. It was included into the top five of the Poetry Books of the Year selected by the expert committee. Alongside with poems, the author writes plays and he is also cooperating with Klaipėda Youth Theatre and Lithuanian National Drama Theatre. In 2015 he was granted the most honourable Lithuanian theatre award the Golden Stage Cross for his plays Demokratija and Man netinka tavo kostiumas.
Mindaugas Nastaravičius was born on the 17th of April in 1984 in Marijampolis Village, Vilnius district. He graduated from the Institute of Journalism in Faculty of Communication at Vilnius University. From 2007 to 2009 he attended the Faculty of Philosophy of Vilnius University as a free listener. Since 2012 he is a Master student of Literary Studies of Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences.
As a freelance journalist he has been preparing a radio programme Literatūros akiračiai for the National Radio and Television of Lithuania and cooperating with cultural press. In 2012 he was awarded by the Ministry of Culture for journalism.
In 2010 he won the Contest of the Most Beautiful Lithuanian Book announced by the Lithuanian Association for Writers. His collection of poems Dėmėtų akių was awarded Zigmas Gėlė-Gaidamavičius’ prize for the best debut of the year.
In 2014 his second book titled Mo was published. It was included into the top five of the Poetry Books of the Year selected by the expert committee and the top twelve of the Most Artistic Books of the Year.
In 2011 M. Nastaravičius started cooperating with Valentinas Masalskis, one of the most famous Lithuanian actors, directors and theatre educator. Under his supervision he wrote his first play titled Paukštyno bendrabutis (2012) for Klaipėda Youth Theatre. Later the plays Kita mokykla (2013) and Man netinka tavo kostiumas (2014) followed. The author was awarded that most honourable Lithuanian theatre award, i.e. the Golden Stage Cross for latter play and the play Demokratija (2014) written for Lithuanian National Drama Theatre.
