1. I Shall / Ќе

   

   

   ENGMAC

   With hoarse leaden words
   I shall pull down the sky
   like a simple neon thought at the shop window,
   I shall tear out the panic stricken stars and
   scatter them across the empty sidewalks,
   I shall force the moon
   like crumpled paper
   to scratch the back of Notos[1],
   I shall put the planets to sleep in
   the factory smell of the suburb
   and the clouds
   I shall drain like nectar
   over the blind streets,
   and in the end -
   like a dandelion I shall float to the abyss,
   to spend the night just once
   as a constellation in the new Cosmos.

   [1] NOTOS (or Notus) was the god of the South Wind, one of the four Anemoi (Wind-Gods). He was the wet, storm-bringing wind of late summer and early autumn. Notos dwelt in Aithiopia, the southernmost realm in the geography of myth.

   Со зарипнати оловни зборови
   ќе го урнам небото
   како проста неонска мисла по излозите,
   ќе ги откорнам паничните ѕвезди и
   ќе ги расејам по испразнетите тротоари,
   ќе ја натерам месечината
   како преџвакана хартија
   да се грепчи по плеќите на Нотос,
   планетите ќе ги заспијам во
   фабричкиот мирис на предградието
   а облаците
   ќе ги исцедам како нектар
   по слепите улици,
   и на крајот -
   како глуварка ќе лебдам до празнината,
   за да преноќам само еднаш
   како соѕвездие во новиот Космос.

2. When our names are gone / Кога ги нема нашите имиња

   

   

   ENGMAC

   We live
   as old telephone doubles[1],
   always
   when our names are gone
   in the new directories,
   they are written
   somewhere on the guideposts.

   Живееме
   како стари телефонски двојници,
   секогаш
   кога ги нема нашите имиња
   во новите адресари,
   тие се испишани
   некаде на патоказните табли.

3. The future has forgotten us / Нас иднината не заборавила

   

   

   ENGMAC

   When we are distant

   as vowels and their shadows

   in an unwritten word

   wemake our home

   as footsteps in the draft of someone’s room

   with imaginary walls,

   with sketched doors and windows

   from the childish fantasy of others,

   we make our home

   there where

   not even the legs of the chairs

   can bear the

   weight of the drowsy emptiness,

   because

   the future has forgotten us.

   Кога сме далеку
   како самогласки и нивните сенки
   во ненапишан збор
   се вдомуваме
   како чекори на провев во нечии соби
   со измислени ѕидови,
   со нацртани врати и прозорци
   од туѓа детска фантазија,
   се вдомуваме
   таму каде што
   ниту ногарките на столиците
   не можат да ја издржат
   тежината на задреманата празнотија,
   затоа што
   нас иднината не заборавила.
