We invite you to mark the upcoming World Poetry Day and on this occasion take a look at the video clip that was created to show that poetry matters.
With webpage launch behind us and the World Poetry Day ahead of us, we decided to make a video about poetry. We spoke to over thirty European poets, poetry connoisseurs and opinion leaders who answered questions on what poetry means to us all. This has created an interesting collage of answers and impressions that communicate in eleven European languages how poetry connects and contributes to our lives.
21 March is both the first day of spring and World Poetry Day. In the days leading up to this occasion, the three-minute clip will be seen by Members of the European Parliament as well as members of the national parliaments of a number of European countries participating in the Versopolis platform. Through this gesture they will show that poetry matters.
