My life with poetry

Share

In this episode of My Life with Poetry, Lithuanian poet and visual artist Dovilė Bagdonaitė shares the story of how she found her voice in poetry, what she considers her greatest achievement so far, and the most valuable advice she's received — and now passes on to others.

A graduate of the Vilnius Academy of Arts, where she earned both her MA and a PhD in monumental painting, Bagdonaitė brings a unique visual sensitivity to her writing. Her debut poetry collection, Blue Whale’s Heart (2016), was awarded first prize by the Lithuanian Writers’ Union, while her second collection, Tracks_in_the_grass (2022), was shortlisted by the Institute of Lithuanian Literature and Folklore as one of the top five poetry books of the year.
