As the fourth edition of Poetry Expo 2026 draws to a close, we at Versopolis extend our deepest gratitude to the more than 250 organisations, collectives, institutions and individual creators who joined us this year in building an extraordinary, borderless constellation of poetic thought and action.

Under the resonant theme ‘Writing in the Wake of the World – New Verses for Torn Times,’ this year’s Expo unfolded as a field of response: to fracture, to uncertainty, to ecological collapse, to war and displacement, to censorship and algorithmic fatigue – but also to resilience, tenderness and radical imagination.

Together, we created not simply an exhibition, but a living archive of poetic survival.

A Gathering Across Seven Pavilions

Structured around seven curated thematic pavilions, Poetry Expo 2026 invited creators from across the globe to reflect on the shifting conditions of our present:

1) Writing After – Catastrophe, Memory, and the Archive of Loss

2) Symbiotic Futures – Ecopoetics in the Age of Extinction

3) Disrupted Realities – Poetry and the Politics of Truth

4) Hybrid Selves – Gender, Identity, and Posthuman Intimacies

5) Poetic Infrastructures – Reclaiming Space, Building Commons

6) Unruly Forms – Experiments in the Poetic Wild

7) The Poetics of Care – Intimacy, Tenderness, Repair

Through these interconnected spaces, we witnessed how poetry continues to speak from the margins, how it traces silence, how it reimagines kinship, and how it resists erasure. We encountered poems as protest and poems as balm; poems as glitch, as archive, as ecosystem, as infrastructure; poems that de-centre the human and poems that insist on tenderness as a radical act.

A Truly Global Community

This year’s Expo expanded in both urgency and reach. With participation from over 250 contributors worldwide, Poetry Expo 2026 has reaffirmed that poetry is not confined to the page – it is an active commons, a shared language of survival.

From visual poets and eco-collectives to migrant networks, digital experimenters, Indigenous writers, queer archives, AI-coders, and grassroots organisers – your contributions formed a vast and vibrant topography of voices. You brought vulnerability and fierceness. You brought memory and speculation. You brought resistance and repair.

Each project submitted, each poetic gesture shared, strengthened the connective tissue between cultures, languages, and communities. The diversity of forms and perspectives presented this year stands as a testament to poetry’s enduring capacity to respond to crisis without surrendering complexity.

Let the Archive Continue

Poetry Expo 2026 was conceived as a fully digital, open, and globally accessible exhibition – a space where analogue and digital, grounded and speculative, individual and collective could resonate together.

What you have built is more than a programme. It is an evolving document of imagination. A map of how language survives disaster. A reminder that writing in the wake of the world is not an act of mourning alone – it is also an act of beginning.

On behalf of Versopolis, thank you for your courage, your creativity, your trust and your commitment to poetry as a living force for dialogue and transformation.

Let us continue to write – across borders, across disciplines, across fractures.
Let us continue to build the archive of tomorrow.

We look forward to welcoming you again next year.
