From a library of chance to the open road, writing is born in an unlikely moment: behind the wheel of a truck. It is there that poetic prose emerges as a vital necessity—and it never stops. From that point on, words become practice, teaching, and dramatization, giving rise to a continuous path of creation.
From this creative urgency emerges CEMITÉRIO, an amateur artistic project formed by Benjamim Viriato, bringing together artists from different fields and life paths. It functions as a space of convergence where poetic prose intersects with music, multiple instruments, diverse professional experiences, and each participant’s willingness to be crossed by art.
The name "Cemitério" means graveyard and refers not to death, but to transformation: a symbolic territory where ideas are buried only to be decomposed, reworked, and reborn in new forms. It marks the end of artistic comfort, the refusal of stagnation, and the courage to dismantle what must fall so something alive can emerge.
The project is built as a conscious—almost alchemical—mix of languages, talents, and influences, open to the magic of art and culture as tools for expanding consciousness. Creation does not seek comfort, it embraces the disturbance of peace as an artistic gesture, questioning, displacing, and inviting everyone involved to go beyond the obvious. Art thus emerges as a living, collective, and restless territory.

Benjamim Viriato is a Portuguese poet working mainly in poetic prose. His creative path emerged while working as a long-distance truck driver, where solitude and continuous motion became catalysts for writing. His work explores transformation, reincarnation, myth, and contemporary spirituality, bridging the symbolic and the intimate. He has since participated in various social and community events, sharing messages of inner liberation and encouraging collective support for social causes.
