The selected poems by Dessy Tsvetkova, a Bulgarian poet living in Belgium, unfold as lyrical reflections on movement, awakening, and belonging. Drawing on elemental imagery—wind, sea, sand, air, and sky—the poems mirror inner states through the rhythms of the natural world.
In Eternal Painting Melody, life is imagined as a shared composition, where each gesture adds to a vast, living canvas of time and space. Escaping addresses the breaking point at which routine gives way to awareness, suggesting that true living begins through disruption and change. Ethnic traces a symbolic ascent beyond everyday concerns, arriving at a heightened perspective where poetry itself becomes a way of seeing. In Gift, fleeting moments are treated as sacred instants of joy, while the closing poem returns to the sea, questioning whether freedom and flight can exist without grounding and origin.
Across these poems, Tsvetkova’s language is musical, light, and contemplative, offering poetry as a space of breath, elevation, and quiet philosophical reflection.
The project is part of the subthemes Symbiotic Futures – Ecopoetics in the Age of Extinction and The Poetics of Care – Intimacy, Tenderness, Repair.
