On Connectivity

shifting from internalised competition to a space of collective union

Poetry Expo 2026

Having met within Barcelona’s poetry scene, the two poets recognised a shared sensibility in both their thematic concerns and performance practices. Rather than approaching this overlap as competition, they chose collaboration—forming a poetry duo as an intentional act of solidarity. This encounter and decision became the foundation of the poem.

The work offers a critique of the individualistic, capitalist culture in which they were formed, questioning systems that privilege separation over connection. At the same time, it extends an invitation toward a more inclusive and collective space—one in which differences are not erased but set aside long enough to recognise how deeply interconnected human experience truly is.

Rooted in performance and shared voice, the poem affirms the possibility of unity grounded in love, tenderness, and mutual care. These are presented not as abstractions, but as vital forces—practices of attention and connection that sustain life and allow communities to endure.

The project is part of the subtheme The Poetics of Care – Intimacy, Tenderness, Repair.
