After the war

Poetry Expo 2026

This poem opens the poetry collection METΡŌ (METRO) by Charidimos Kiosterakis, published by Enypnio in October 2025. It explores how a survivor reflects on a past war. To evoke the atmosphere of a war zone, the poem incorporates visual poetry techniques, such as vertically arranged bombs. These techniques aim to make the chaos of the battlefield visible and to convey the cruelty of war as a form of resistance against it.

The project is part of the subthemes Writing After – Catastrophe, Memory, and the Archive of Loss, Unruly Forms – Experiments in the Poetic Wild.
