IN A DREAM – But this is probably happening in real time is a reflective text written in the days leading up to the release of a debut book. It traces the fragile space between creation and loneliness, examining what it means to make something deeply personal public while feeling unseen, misunderstood, or disconnected.
The piece moves through questions of belonging, language, and loss, exploring the paradox of a book that once offered refuge arriving at a moment of emotional distance from the world. Fear and exposure run quietly through the text, alongside the vulnerability of becoming visible and the subtle heartbreak that accompanies recognition.
Poised between dream and reality, the work captures an intimate threshold moment—when artistic emergence coincides with uncertainty, and presence is felt as both affirmation and rupture.
