Cuckoo Has Two Mothers & Artist X Poet

Poetry Expo 2026

This collaboration between Dohyun Baek and Luigi Coppola brings together art, poetry, music, and performance in a multidisciplinary dialogue: titular piece ‘Cuckoo Has Two Mother’. Through surreal narratives, playful absurdity, and profound reflections on human vulnerability, the show explores the thresholds we encounter: between imagination and reality, progress and imperfection, utility and waste, self and other.

Baek’s visually arresting paintings, installations, and sculptural interventions meet Coppola’s visceral poems and dynamic live and multimedia performances. The collaboration reimagines stories and archetypes: cuckoos with too many mothers; Don Quixote astride a self-made stool; a gate that opens endlessly; they ask audiences to step into spaces where meaning is fluid, expansive and haunting.
