Watching The Light Break

Poetry Expo 2026

Watching the Light Break is a poetic meditation on light emerging through darkness and the unknown. The work explores moments of transition, uncertainty, and quiet transformation, using poetry as a means of attentiveness and care.

The collection consists of sixteen poems, including The Meteorite, Venus, The Motorway, The Hitchhiker, The Viking Lady, The Wanderer, Sunset, and Light. Each poem is presented alongside an audio reading and a photographic image, creating a dialogue between text, voice, and visual perception.

The project concludes with contextual notes, credits, and a musical composition, framing the collection as a cohesive audiovisual work.

The project is part of the subthemes Symbiotic Futures – Ecopoetics in the Age of Extinction, Poetic Infrastructures – Reclaiming Space, Building Commons, Unruly Forms – Experiments in the Poetic Wild, The Poetics of Care – Intimacy, Tenderness, Repair.
