This poetry project is a yell. A rage against the inhuman and ruthless actions of those who wage wars and kill young children, with the same ease with which they would tie their shoes. It is also a letter of solidarity, to all Palestinians who survived, to kids who keep on dreaming, to every downtrodden and persecuted person who carries on, with whatever is left for them. This poem is my wish for the future of Palestine – for the future of Palestinian kids.
All photos were taken by Maria Mari, who traveled to Palestine some years ago, to teach Palestinian kids Educational Drama. Credits also to Veroniki Evangelidou for her artistic curation.
The project is part of the subthemes Writing After – Catastrophe, Memory, and the Archive of Loss, Disrupted Realities – Poetry and the Politics of Truth.
