Gyanogeregye James Joyce Conference 1989

Poetry Expo 2026

In Gyanogeregye James Joyce Conference 1989, Abajkovics sets out from the fictional universe of James Joyce’s Ulysses as a starting point for literary exploration. Drawing on the musty, familiar atmosphere of Central European cultural memory, he collects partially or fully formed linguistic and visual fragments—reusable remnants encountered along the way. More recently, his practice has expanded to include time-stamped messages, modes of communication, and linguistic patterns appropriated from social media platforms and meme culture. Removed from their original contexts, these materials are arbitrarily transformed into the raw material of his poetic and linguistic experiments.
