shape it - it´s real

Poetry Expo 2026

Across many languages, the moon carries emotional meanings of love, loss, and cyclical existence. But what does it mean to be the moon itself, to bear partial responsibility for the tides, to serve as a projection screen for wishes and desires, and yet to be taken for granted?

By turning our attention to tides and cycles, time opens for shaping our lives with greater care. In attuning ourselves to these rhythms, we may learn how to leave behind traces of healing for those who come after us.

The project is part of the subtheme The Poetics of Care – Intimacy, Tenderness, Repair.

Maria Seisenbacher

Maria Seisenbacher (MS) is a poet and translator into easy language who lives and works in Vienna. MS holds workshops for people with and without disabilities and received several awards and residencies. For MS, poetry is an interplay of observation and perception that is transformed by language into a completely different mystery. Being the child of a binational partnership and raised in only one language, MS is intimately aware of the fluidity and importance of language and identity.Through the practice of butoh (Japanese expressive dance), MS explores the culture of one of her parents without language and tries to combine poetry with movement. more information: www.mariaseisenbacher.com
