The performance ‘Rêverie’ put together two daydreams in their nature; Lajus’s poems ‘Un sourire’ and ‘Simple parfois’ and Emirosmanoğlu’s aquarel ‘Songeur’ with birds singing in early morning. Two works in their materiality, sounds, words, lines and colors, are in contact with four elements of Bachelard’s poetic: Fire, Water, Earth and Air and resonate in the deepness of beings creating new rhythms in cosmos.
With this work, we wish to draw attention on the importance of the childhood in all of us. The childhood is a very special part of us which continues living in us all our life, it determines our way of being in the world, as a singular person and also as a person in interaction with others. It’s a fragile part of us which needs care; we think, as the philosopher Gaston Bachelard, that the childhood should be preserve and improve during all our life. It helps us to be connected by our sensibility to the world, with the sounds, the flavours, the view, for example. It helps us to be more empathic and sensible. We combined our two works for create an impressive poetic experience. The sounds of the voice, the poem rhythms, the brush movements, colors, water and light, and then the animation at the end offer to the audience a special combination for stimulating all the sensibilities.

Claire Lajus is a poet, a translator of Turkish, and both the founder and leader of the online review Ayna (revueayna.com) that promotes contemporary Turkish poetry. She has translated almost ten poetry books from Turkish to French. She is now working at the translation department of İstanbul’s University. Her poems have been published in various reviews. She wrote L’Ombre remue, Éditions La Crypte, 2018; Aux Aguets, L’Harmattan, 2020; Une Traversée, Mars editions, 2023, Aperçus indisponibles, La Crypte, 2024. She is a Versopolis poet since 2023 and she hosts poetry reading for the “Voix Vives” poetry festival at Sète, France.

Zuhal Emirosmanoğlu
Zuhal Emirosmanoğlu is an associate professor in translation studies at Istanbul University. As a translator and watercolor artist, she is working on ecotranslation and French philosopher Gaston Bachelard’s phenomenology of imagination and poetics. Her monography Fenomenolojik Bir Çeviri “İşi”: Bachelard-Düşçizileri [A Phenomenological Translation “work”: Bachelard – Reveriescapes], Günce Yayınları, 2023 takes translation as an experiential and sensory act integrating visual, spatial, and affective dimensions. Her paintings, “Reveries in aquarel”, are visual translations of a textual engagement with Bachelard’s Poetics.
