Hatem Al Shehri presents four poems from his latest poetry collection, Where Does All This Death Come From?, which was awarded the Ibn Arabi International Prize 2024 in Spain. He carefully selected these poems as they best represent his poetic voice and personal expression. In a world fraught with conflict, Al Shehri sees poetry as his way of responding to and alleviating these struggles. While he refrains from praising his own work, he believes these poems deserve to be read at least once.

Hatem Al Shehri is a writer and poet, author of 17 books. His books have been translated into more than nine languages. He won the Ibn Arabi International Prize 2024 from Spain for his poetry collection: Where does all this death come from? He has presented poetry evenings in Spain, Germany, Italy, China, South Africa, Sweden and Egypt.
