Halyna Maksymiv’s poetry is a powerful testament to resilience, loss, and the unbreakable spirit of Ukraine. Through vivid imagery and historical symbolism, her verses navigate the devastation of war, the weight of memory, and the relentless pursuit of freedom.
From the grief of nameless graves to the unyielding hope for victory, these poems capture the raw emotions of a nation at war. The echoes of ancient civilizations, the voices of fallen heroes, and the enduring presence of the Ukrainian people weave together in a narrative of sacrifice and determination. Maksymiv’s poetry reminds us that while wars may take lives, they cannot extinguish the light of a people who refuse to be forgotten.
The project is part of the subthemes Healing Narratives - Poetry, Mental Health and Collective Trauma.
