"Most of us fight battles within which no one else knows anything about. Shaped by experiences, people and events, our life narrative takes different turns on the road of coming back home and clearly seeing the essence of ourselves after a long time. An encounter that changes how we approach others, being careful and considerate of their stories, twists and turns and showing openness while understanding all the roads taken trying to find the way to the center of their being." - states the author.
The Roaming Mind
Puzzles pressing from every corner,
Sunrise hidden behind a question mark
- the darkness of the unknown stark.
Roaming through forests with the
Potential of different paths to take
And contrasting scenarios to unfold.
A thousand worlds the mind holds!
Passers-by differing opinions share
Each convinced of the truth
Of their interpretation of the image they stare at.
‘Turn left.’ , ‘No, right.’, ‘Just stay put.’
- we constantly hear.
When no one else has gone through your steps
It is hard to imagine what and why another one fears.
A labyrinth whose paths do not collide
With thousand secrets to hide.
‘Keep it on the inside, just be strong.’
What if all of these assumptions are just dead wrong?
To exit a dark tunnel
A glimpse of light is needed to guide our steps.
If you cannot understand external mind maps
The tower you are building for others to remain in will collapse.
The only constant
- an ebb and flow
That submerges a person
In water levels that seemingly recede
Then suddenly grow.
Suffocating oneself in a state of:
- Real or Dream? -
Reality slowly turns into a story grim.
Offering suggestions without abandoning
A safely constructed shore
Marks everything outside a known zone as gore.
The message becomes: ‘Has to be omitted!’
No environment to healing fully committed.
The project is part of the subtheme Healing Narratives - Poetry, Mental Health and Collective Trauma.
