Colors - Me and You and I

Poetry Expo 25

This poem was written as a reflection and conversation with the author’s younger self. It emerged from a moment of realization—sadness over discovering their writing talent later in life. A day prior, they had found an old agenda from their early teenage years, filled with short poems that had been kept hidden. This discovery sparked a need to reassure their younger self that writing was a gift, not something to be ashamed of. The poem became a means of healing, a way to acknowledge the passage of time, the dance between past and future, and the process of rewriting an old chapter with newfound confidence.

The transformation of the poem into a video was a natural extension of this creative journey. As the author explored writing further, they began using AI tools to refine their English, which is not their first language. This led to the discovery of Suno.com, an AI platform that generates music from text. By combining Suno’s music with their poetry, selecting a fitting style, and editing the piece using DaVinci Resolve, they created a unique audiovisual experience. The final result features the original poem accompanied by AI-generated music, voice, and imagery, with visuals created using Leonardo.ai. The poem now lives as part of a growing collection on their YouTube channel, blending human emotion with AI-assisted creativity.

The project is part of the subthemes Re-imagining identity through poetry, Technopoetics - AI, Digital Media and the Future of Creativity, Healing Narratives - Poetry, Mental Health and Collective Trauma, Poetry and the Digital Commons - New platforms, new audiences.

Cristina Ioana Boroi

Cristina Ioana Boroi is a poet who has been writing since her early 20s, though she only recently embraced it as her true creative path. For years, she kept her words tucked away in notebooks, phone notes, and scattered pieces of paper, never fully considering poetry as more than a personal outlet. In 2024, through a journey of self-discovery, she recognized writing as her passion and decided to share it with the world.

Originally drawn to visual arts, Cristina always searched for a form of expression that truly resonated with her. Over time, she realized that writing had been her constant companion—the art form that allowed her to reflect, process, and connect. Now, she embraces poetry as a way to slow down, observe life, and express emotions that might otherwise go unspoken.

Her work explores themes of self-growth, creativity, and the beauty found in everyday moments. With a newfound commitment to her craft, Cristina is dedicated to sharing her words, hoping they resonate with those on their own journeys of reflection and self-expression.
