Covered in Blue

Poetry Expo 25

"She Never Finishes Her Coffee in the Morning" is inspired by the author's experiences with a close friend. Although their friendship was relatively new, the quiet moments of sitting in silence, drinking coffee until a cigarette burned out, and getting lost in thought served as the foundation for the poem. In contrast, "Covered in Blue" is an abstract yet deeply personal exploration of mental health. One of the author's favorite pieces, it captures the struggles we overcome, the battles we lose, the attachments we form, and the love we encounter—all unfolding within the poem.

The project is part of the subtheme Healing Narratives - Poetry, Mental Health and Collective Trauma.
