Don't Leave Me On Seen

(Post)Poetry Anthology Red de poesía

Poetry Expo 25

During the pandemic, virtual communities on social networks gained considerable popularity. Among those that were dedicated to literature, a new collective emerged that eventually considered itself to be one dedicated to the writing of "post-poetry", pointing to concepts of post-humanism in the digital age. The collective, of which the presenter is a member, is made up of Hispanic-American users from different countries. They all interact on Whatsapp to share writings that focus occasionally on themes of the virtual age, although they are allowed to share any kind of contribution that could enrich the circulation of original content.

In recent months, some members have organized an anthology with a selection of the most representative poems written in this workshop. The format of the book is presented with features resembling a Whatsapp conversation, where the poems appear in the context of several chat conversations.

The proposal for the presentation of this work aims to motivate reflection on collective forms of poetic production, especially in the context of the era of social networks.

The project is part of the subthemes Technopoetics - AI, Digital Media and the Future of Creativity, Poetry and the Digital Commons - New platforms, new audiences.

Red de poesía

The (post)poetry collective "Red de Poesía" is an open-access Whatsapp group where users share the poems they write. Occasionally, the group's administrators produce anthologies in which participants write under common themes. The most recent of these was edited in the format of a Whatsapp conversation (i.e. the pages of the book look like a Whatsapp conversation), gathering over 100 pages of poems and real conversations taken from the chat group. The concept of "Postpoetry" emerges as a proposal to innovate poetry through digital formats in the posthuman era.
