The satoris / s-tories is a series of poems focused on the present moment. They are dedicated to two great poets, Lew Welch and Matsuo Bashō.
Heart-rain is a short collection of haibun-style poems. Little stories with a short poem at the end. They are set in particular places, and get at a kind of awareness of place, place as Place, and interconnectivity of people there, of lives, in Nature, which is of course clearly what we need to be aware of. There's a better word for that, interdependence or to take Gary Snyder's oft-used phrase inter-penetration. Permeability is another good one. It's also by way of making the short poems, which are not haiku, more accessible.
Heart-rain 2
¡Alto pinar!
A sound I recognise that
I do not know
So I stay a moment &
Listen
The sky rushes in
The whole sky rushes in
The green, azure,
White & clean light
Desert burned
The sound of a bird
High in the pines.
20-21st Feb. 2024
Heart rain
Rain on the road
Is the blossoming of the world.
