“Not-love song”

Poetry Expo 25

The poetry project titled: “Not-love song” presented here, touches on the conflicts of modern man, the confusion between contradictory values resulting from the rapid development of civilization. These are universal dilemmas, but also individual ones: to keep some of the mental health as a confrontation with painful reality or to escape into illness when everyday life is unbearable; is it better to love and expose oneself to hurt, or is salvation a relationship that will not happen, as in the title of project. Will man "save" nature from an ecological catastrophe, or this is nature that gives us "soul", because without it humanity makes no sense. With its "impudent" existence, the Saiga poses a challenge to those who think they have all the knowledge and that nothing will surprise them in an increasingly technological reality. What is religion and spirituality today? In the piece "Desert", God, persecuted in his own temples, invites his earthly children to play and dreams of peace like a tired parent.

Love or not-love, ecology or destruction, health vs. mental illness; fortunately, the modern question "to be or not to be" can also be answered with black humor like the hero of the piece "Cat and potato", who simply rejoices in his own being, a moment, a rolling vegetable and "doesn't give a damn" about the existential dilemmas of a wooden table.

The author is a psychologist and psychotherapist with an inclination towards psychodynamic theories, which makes her interested in the area of unconscious, unspoken psychological conflict. There is something unconscious, which gives birth to beauty in life, and sometimes leads astray from which it is impossible to escape. Or maybe in these struggles the point is simply to see fleeting beauty in the apparent meaninglessness of everyday life and experience the incomprehensible miracle of life?

The project is part of the subthemes The Ecology of Language - Poetry and Environmental Action, Healing Narratives - Poetry, Mental Health and Collective Trauma.
