What is the ground we stand on, what keeps us awake at night, what gets us up early in the morning? What does "generation" mean, and what does "transition" mean? And how can these things sometimes rest upon words and other times flee from them?
Surely, when we talk about ourselves through our writing, we’re also speaking about our generation. But the time has come to speak directly about our generation—the millennial generation, the generation of transition. The generation that knows both cassette tapes on the radio and Spotify, floppy disks and Google Drive. The generation that knows and forgets so much, that drinks beer with the same ease with which everything can suddenly become difficult. A generation you could accuse of a thousand things, like writing poetry and sexting at the same time. This generation.
