The poetry engages with transformative elements through free associations, reflecting on the daily lives and traumas experienced in a post-socialist context of Slovakia. This could also be interpreted as a revolt or warning about the possible outcomes of contemporary Slovak political situation. Through these poetic stories, I aim to critique the lingering effects of socialism, addressing daily issues such as close-mindedness, domestic abuse, sexism, and the challenges faced by those who are often misunderstood.
To write is so natural to me, like to walk or to breathe. But still, I find it more and more bewitching when I come aware that I am indeed manifesting the present state of my soul into a coherent, human translation.
The project is part of the subtheme Re-imagining identity through poetry.
