Poetry Expo 23 / 9 March 2023

Poesiegraf #2

Poetry Expo 23

On October 9, 2022, 11 poets took part in a poetical performance in the park of Tempelhofer Feld in Berlin (DE).

Inspired by the date 9. 10. 2035, each poet wrote an original score in their mother tongue and drew it with chalk approx. every 500 meters on the old runway of the park. Poems were written in Dutch, English, French, German, Farsi and Spanish.

The poems were connected through a 2 km long poetical line written by U8 Kollektiv together with Maud Ruget.

The project is part of the subtheme Connect not divide.

U8 Kollektiv

The U8 Kollektiv is a Berlin-based poetry collective composed mainly of Laurence Ermacova and Neïtah Janzing. Referring to the U8 subway line that crosses Berlin from North to South, the collective seeks to enter into dialogue with the city through public actions, following the conviction that poetry has the power to transform places. The U8 Kollektiv invites authors of different languages to participate in their actions, thus reflecting the plurilingualism reality of Berlin. No single language is able to express the city in all its complexity and intimacy.
