Artists for Climate Awareness

Artists for Climate Awareness (Művészek a klímatudatosságért) is Hungary-based group of international, and independent artists whose goal is to raise awareness of the ongoing ecological disaster we are facing and of the importance of personal and collective responsibility. Hungarian poets János Áfra and Peter Závada started the informal group in 2019. August, and their activities will include art events, such as poetry readings and panel discussions all concerned with the overall theme of climate crisis. In this video some of Hungary's prominent contemporary poets read their works in connection with the group's aesthetic program.

Society of Hungarian Authors (Szépírók Társasága)

The Society was established in 1997 to promote contemporary literature and democratic cultural policies. Its almost 400 members include some of the internationally most acclaimed Hungarian writers as well as cultural journalists and cultural managers from across Hungary, and also writers and critics of the Hungarian minorities and diasporas, along with international translators and scholars of Hungarian literature.
