Festival of Hope 1 / 29 April 2020

Six Borders From Eachother: Cross-border poetry reading

Six poets from five countries  reading their poems in five languages are representing our festival with its idea of crossing the lines. Two of our laureates (elected by other participants) are writing in Russian while living in Ukraine and Montenegro respectively; one more poet lives in Latvia but writes in almost extinct Livonian; Latvian, Belarusian and Hebrew also will be heard. All the six in their poems challenge any kind of separation willing to build bridges and enjoy human communality.

Poetry Without Borders

Poetry Without Borders is a trilingual yearly international poetry festival in Riga since 2017. It is being organized by thre co-curators from  Literature Without Borders, non-profit society in Latvia that also runs a small press poetry publishing project and a residence for poets and poetry translators in Ozolnieki, Latvia.
