Zero Shot, Part 1

Brave New Literatures Festival

The texts in the collected animations are the output of GPT-2, OpenAI’s generative pretrained transformer

This model learns nuanced patterns in language and outputs text in the style of the dataset it has been fed. This process of ‘finetuning’ GPT-2 was performed with the author’s own corpus of poetic writing, producing a synthetic personal voice drawn from algorithms. Each piece features a manually written input prompt and the AI’s many attempts to continue that sequence in the author’s voice.
