PAGE BREAK INTERNATIONAL POETRY FESTIVAL
The Page Break International Poetry Festival is Latvia's primary annual international poetry festival, held each spring in Riga. Organized by the Society I DID IT in cooperation with the Riga City Council and the Latvian State Culture Capital Foundation, the festival has become a significant event in the country's cultural calendar. Established in 2022 by poets Efe Duyan and Madara Gruntmane, the festival aims to invigorate the international spirit of the Latvian poetry scene and bring together diverse and fresh voices of world poetry.
Over four days, the festival offers a rich program of poetry readings, panel discussions, school visits, and performances, fostering cross-cultural dialogue and highlighting the diversity of poetic expression. A hallmark of the festival is the publication of an anthology featuring original works by participating poets alongside their Latvian translations, contributing to the enrichment of the local literary landscape.
The festival culminates in a grand gala event—a music and poetry concert held at the historic Splendid Palace theatre. This multilingual performance, attended by hundreds, features festival poets presenting their work accompanied by live music, creating a unique and immersive experience for audiences.
