The Malta Mediterranean Literature Festival is an established annual international literary festival organized by the voluntary cultural organization Inizjamed. A Literary Translation Workshop is an integral part of the Festival.

The Festival brings together active writers and literary translators from Malta, the Mediterranean and beyond, to showcase contemporary writing and thinking, promote interaction across languages, geographies and artistic genres, and to discuss some of the major issues of our time.

By fostering collaboration within specific programmes and across artistic genres through an annual literary festival, a literary translation workshop and other pre-festival events, the Festival Mediterranju tal-Letteratura ta’ Malta aims to consolidate the place of Maltese literature in its simultaneously global and Mediterranean context.

The Festival is now 19 editions old. It is an intimate, week-long event with a loyal audience. The Festival is also a favourite with authors, and has welcomed renowned authors such as Aslı Erdoğan, Sjón, Abdulrazak Gurnah, Hisham Matar, Selma Dabbagh, Efe Duyan, Marina Warner, Inua Ellams, and Joelle Taylor.
