The Malta Mediterranean Literature Festival
26 – 30 August 2025
- Malta, Malta -
The Malta Mediterranean Literature Festival is an established annual international literary festival organized by the voluntary cultural organization Inizjamed.
The Festival brings together active writers and literary translators from Malta, the Mediterranean and beyond, to showcase contemporary writing and thinking, promote interaction across languages, geographies and artistic genres, and to discuss some of the major issues of our time.
By fostering collaboration within specific programmes and across artistic genres through an annual literary festival, the Festival Mediterranju tal-Letteratura ta’ Malta aims to consolidate the place of Maltese literature in its simultaneously global and Mediterranean context.
This year the Festival will celebrate its 20th edition. It is an intimate, week-long event with a loyal audience. The Festival is also a favourite with authors, and has welcomed renowned authors such as Aslı Erdoğan, Sjón, Abdulrazak Gurnah, Hisham Matar, Selma Dabbagh, Efe Duyan, Marina Warner, Inua Ellams, and Joelle Taylor.
