Versopolis invites readers to the Frankfurt Book Fair for an encounter with contemporary European poetry. Combining a presentation of the platform, an anthology launch and live readings, Moved by Versopolis celebrates the poets, festivals and collaborations that help poetry travel across languages and borders.
The event will open with remarks by Alessandra Luchetti, Deputy Director of EACEA, followed by an introduction to Versopolis and its activities. Through translation, publication, festival appearances and digital initiatives, the platform supports emerging poets and brings their work to new international audiences.
At the heart of the programme is the newly published anthology Europas Stimmen / mapping poetic voices, bringing together 70 Versopolis poets in German translation. Published in partnership with Versopolis’s German member festival, Hausacher LeseLenz, and Schiler & Mücke publishers, the collection offers a poetic atlas of Europe, tracing the languages, experiences and perspectives that shape its contemporary poetry. Free copies will be available to the audience.
The programme concludes with readings by Efe Duyan (Latvia/Turkey), Marie Iljašenko (Czechia) and Aljaž Koprivnikar (Slovenia), offering a chance to hear three distinct voices from the Versopolis network and encounter their poetry in person.
