Regardless of countries, political systems or religions: humanity is facing a global reevaluation of our ability to tell the truth, to speak up and to be heard. Art and literature play a crucial role in our endeavour to lend a voice to the oppressed, the weak and the excluded.
We are interested in your personal and collective artistic responses to current tendencies in the socio-political field as well as possible solutions and good practices for tomorrow's world. We believe that establishing a dialogue can be the answer to the current crisis. We want to show that in spite of everything there is hope. We want to support valuable artistic reactions which can reach people, raise awareness and mobilise.
We want to address the global community to share inspiring artistic ways of speaking up and telling the truth, regardless of obstacles.
In its second edition, the Festival of Hope will pay special attention to the regions of Central and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, the Balkans and Turkey.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
We are calling out to any institution regardless of it's origin which finds itself in the position to contribute. This is a call for literary institutions, art organisations, art collectives, festivals, cultural media, cultural institutes and others to contribute to our initiative with one or several online events. Individuals can contribute only through organisations.
HOW CAN YOU CONTRIBUTE?
You contribute through online events of every possible genre and format. Films, conversations, videos, dynamic content are preferred, but not exclusively. You can have a look at our first edition of the Festival of Hope and see what over 90 international institutions have contributed. Institutions can participate with only one or a series of contributions. They can be archival or produced especially for FOH2, pre-recorded or live-streamed. The only limitation is that the video content should not exceed 60 minutes and should already be uploaded to either YouTube, Vimeo or other platforms.
The language of the project is English, which does not mean that contributions have to be conducted in English. They should, nevertheless, be subtitled or presented with English abstracts.
WHAT ABOUT PAYMENT?
The project is undertaken on a non-profit basis. No fees are possible for contributions. There is limited funding for English translations available. Our main wish is to make your story, your contribution, your efforts visible globally.
Get in touch with us as soon as possible to discuss your ideas for contributions.
