Thomas Hylland Eriksen
is Professor of Social Anthropology at the University of Oslo and a prolific author in many genres. His anthropology textbooks, including “Small Places, Large Issues”, “Ethnicity and Nationalism” and “What is Anthropology”, have been widely translated, and his most recent book in English is “Fredrik Barth: An intellectual biography”. Eriksen has also published popular books on nationalism, creolisation and diversity, technology and evolution. He is currently directing an ERC Advanced Grant project titled “Overheating: The three crises of globalisation”.
