Anne Weise

was born in Schwerin, Germany. She studied art history and cultural sciences at the Humboldt University of Berlin, where she received a doctorate degree in 1995. Since then, she has done freelance work in various areas. For the past few years, she has been working as an archivist and researcher for the Karl Konig Institute in Aberdeen, Scotland. Recently, she has focused her research on the Holocaust and, in particular, on the life and work of the artist, Alfred Bergel, who died in Auschwitz.
