Laura Accerboni (1985) was born in Genova, lives in Lugano. She graduated in Modern Literature at the University of Genoa. Her poems have been published in several literary reviews, including: Italian Poetry Rewiew, Poesia, Specchio della Stampa, Gradiva, Steve, CapoVerso and Nuova Corrente. Other poems will appear in Serta review (UNED, Madrid) and Loch Raven Review (Maryland). For the Edizioni del Leone she released the poetry book Attorno a ciò che non è stato (Achille Marazza Prize, Opera Prima 2012). Her forthcoming book “La parte dell’annegato” is about to be released by Nottetempo (Poeti.com) in October 2015.In 2014 she was one of the invited poets at the Chiasso Letteraria International Literary Festival, in the Carta Bianca a Pusterla section.
In 2015 she attended as young author the “Cenacolo Monte Verità” event in Ascona (Switzerland).
She won several literary awards including: the Piero Alinari 2011, 1° prize for the unpublished poem (Fondazione Alinari in collaboration with the "Giuseppe Ungaretti" Chair, Columbia University, New York); 1° prize, poetry section, Giovani TalentiCercasi 2009 National Competition, organized by the City of Pisa; 1° prize, poetry section, CercaTalenti 2006, Genoa; 1° prize, students section, International Literary Competition Città di Ancona 2004; 1° prize, young writers section, Città di Catesllo Artea National Award 2002/2003; 1° prize, schools section, International Poetry Award Città di Monza 2000; 1° prize, youth section, Maestrale San Marco International Literary Award 1999; Lerici Pea Award, young poets section, 1996.
Since 2012 she is member of the editorial committee of the Steve poetry review contributing with reviews and translations. Together with the Italian poet Elio Grasso she translated the poetry anthology Philtrum by the American poet Taje Silverman.
Since 2006 she is one of the organizers of the Percorsi Poetici event hosted by the Festival Internazionale di Poesia in Genova.
She curates the GENOVA-VOCI contemporary poetry festival for the Biblioteca Universitaria di Genova. In 2013, in collaboration with BUGE and Succursale Mare, she curated the exhibition “Literary Italy through its historical poetry review 1930-1970”. The exhibition was hosted in the historical caveau of the Banca d’Italia in Genoa.
Her photographic works have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions.
