Andre Rudolph

Andre Rudolph was born 1975 in Warsaw and raised in Germany. He studied German philology in Leipzig and Freiburg i.Br., which he finished with a Ph.D. degree in 2005. After some years of research and teaching at Martin-Luther-University in Halle he began to publish and translate books of poetry; his poems and translations are being published in numerous magazines and newspapers. He published three books of poetry up to now: „Fluglärm über den Palästen unsrer Restinnerlichkeit.“ Gedichte (Luxbooks, Wiesbaden 2009), “Confessional Poetry.” Gedichte (Luxbooks, Wiesbaden 2012), „blicktot, nixe “. Gedichte (Luxbooks, Wiesbaden 2015).

Rudolph is continously translating contemporary polish poetry; Krzysztof Siwczyk (Edition Erata, Leipzig 2007), Tadeusz Dabrowski (Luxbooks, Wiesbaden 2010), Adam Wiedemann, Grzegorz Kwiatkowski, Jakobe Mansztajn, Szczepan Kopyt, Julia Fiedorczuk, Natalia Malek and others.

He received several awards: Prosanova-Literaturpreis 2008, Lyrikpreis Meran 2010, Kranichsteiner Literaturförderpreis 2010, Stipendium des Deutschen Literaturfonds 2011, Wolfgang-Weyrauch-Förderpreis 2011, Tübinger Stadtschreiber 2013, Mörike-Förderpreis 2015
