The horticultural plan

by Martina Vidaić

The horticultural plan

for the moment I am making geometric bodies from the hedge,

but I should also extend my work

to other bodies,

start with an animal,

adam and eve,

then god.

(how tall is god?)

not to make it so hopeless,

to leave a possibility for the roots to turn

by buying a new swing,

possibly in the interspar across the road,

because the old one comes from the same place,

from the yugoslav army barracks,

from the uniform hanger and floor boards

and dad made a wonder from them.

this is tested quality,

negation of heaven which has been going on for decades.

one should keep buying new swings,

a moving percentage

by which the remainder will become questionable.

except, of course, garden gnomes.

they remain unshaken behind the fence,

firmly believing in the garden,

somewhat funny and somewhat horrid,

like god.

Hortikulturni plan

zasad od živice oblikujem geometrijska tijela,

ali trebalo bi proširiti posao

i na druga tijela,

početi s ponekom životinjom,

adamom i evom,

zatim bogom.

(koliko je visok bog?)

da ne bude toliko bezizlazno,

ostaviti korijenju mogućnost obrtanja

kupnjom nove ljuljačke,

najbolje u onom intersparu preko ceste,

jer i stara potječe s istog mjesta, iz kasarne jna,

od vješalice uniformi i podnih dasaka

s kojima je ćaća napravio čudo.

to je provjerena kvaliteta,

negiranje raja koje traje desetljećima.

treba neprestano kupovati nove ljuljačke,

pomični postotak

po kojem će ostatak postajati upitan.

osim, naravno, vrtnih patuljaka.

oni ostaju nepoljuljani iza živice,

čvrsto vjerujući u vrt,

pomalo smiješni i pomalo strašni,

kao bog.
