trains

sometimes at night we hear
trains invading our
bedroom especially distinct
in summer we sleep with the window open
they are often slow
squeaking as they brake not letting
me sleep as I listen to them I have always
lived in places where
on summer nights one could hear
the trains in childhood
the tracks were the farthest
on the other side of the brook
with frogs ribbiting
louder than the night whistles
later the tracks were
a bit closer but were
drowned out by owls now
only cricket sounds blend
with the clashing iron
at night unable
to ever drown it out

vlaki

včasih se ponoči slišijo
vlaki vdirajo v najino
spalnico to je zlasti slišno
poleti spiva pri odprtem oknu
so pogosto počasni
škripajoče zavirajo mi ne
dajo spati poslušam jih vedno
sem živela v krajih kjer so se
v poletnih nočeh slišali
v otroštvu je bila proga
najbolj oddaljena
vmes je bil potok
v katerem so regljale žabe
so preglasile nočne piske
kasneje je bila proga
nekoliko bližja vendar so bile
glasnejše sove zdaj se
z železnim jekom ponoči
meša le glas čričkov
ki ga ne zmore
nikoli preglasiti
