Walker II

by Kristina Kočan

Walker II

to my neighbor Johnny whose name
most likely isn’t Johnny
who doesn’t walk as much as he used to
but still reads

I don’t spot him as often
last Wednesday he remained
without his shoes he tossed
them onto a nearby powerline now
dangling on the cables as people do
it in bigger cities usually
gang members he
must have seen it on tv or
in a photo again Johnny
wants to begin a new trend
first he walks and reads now
he throws shoes onto cables
his black heavy boots are
just hanging there
will he now walk barefoot?
he keeps causing worries
what if his boots fall down
during a thunder storm
someone might take them
Johnny won’t know
where they are

Walker II

sosedu Johnnyju ki mu najverjetneje ni ime Johnny
ki ne hodi več toliko kot včasih
še vedno pa bere

vse redkeje ga videvam
prejšnji teden v sredo je ostal
brez čevljev zalučal jih je
na bližnji daljnovod in zdaj visijo
na kablu kot to delajo
v velikih mestih običajno
pripadniki tolp
to je najbrž videl po televiziji
pa na kakšni sliki
Johnny spet hoče začet nov trend
najprej hodi in bere
zdaj meče čevlje na kable
tam zdaj visijo njegovi
črni težki gležnarji
ali bo zdaj Johnny hodil bos?
vedno povzroča skrbi
kaj če njegovi gležnarji padejo kdaj
dol med nevihto
nekdo jih bo pobral
Johnny ne bo več vedel
kje so
